“A dive into the origins of Gaiole in Chianti,
a long timeline that traces the history of the village through the centuries and beyond.”
The “Museum of the Origins of Chianti” represents the roots of this territory, presenting to the public a previously inaccessible heritage of information and archaeological materials. These are the result of 50 years of continuous research by Florida State University at Cetamura, as well as recoveries and excavations from the last century, made available to the public thanks to the sensitivity and generosity of private individuals and institutions. This archaeological exhibition path tells the ancient history of the hills overlooking the Massellone Valley, corresponding roughly to the municipal territory of Gaiole, using contemporary language through material evidence.
